Overview
This role is part of the team responsible for the monitoring of Capital One UK’s systems and applications.
Responsibilities
* Supporting engineers in delivery teams as they onboard new applications onto Capital One UK’s monitoring tools, ensuring logging and monitoring are set up to company standards.
* Partnering with engineers across the enterprise to improve monitoring platform capabilities.
* Providing platform support for monitoring tools across SaaS and AWS.
* Leveraging AI to increase the scope of monitoring and alerting.
* Supporting internally written solutions that extend our monitoring capabilities, such as collecting logs from AWS Lambda.
* Project engineering work to deliver new monitoring capabilities.
* Providing support and mentoring for more junior monitoring engineers.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of one or more of the following monitoring tools: Logz.io, OpenTelemetry (OTEL), New Relic, Observe.
* Basic knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Linux and Windows servers.
* Experience with AI-based monitoring and alerting is an advantage.
