We’re looking for someone who loves being outdoors and engaging with people. Our Active Outdoors Assistant role is all about giving people a warm welcome while delivering a varied offer of activities for our Summer of Play programme across the six weeks of the school summer holidays. You’ll play a key part in making sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Salary: £13.25 per hour
Contract Duration: Fixed term until 6th September 2026
Contract Type: Zero‑hour contract – we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
Working Pattern: Typically five days of work will be available per week (approximately 30 hours), supporting the delivery of activities. These hours may be shared between one or more people, depending on availability. This will include some weekend and Bank Holiday working.

As an Active Outdoors Assistant at Wallington, you’ll play a key role in bringing our Summer of Play programme to life across the six‑week school holidays. You’ll help design and deliver a varied programme of engaging outdoor activities, using your creativity to make the most of our spaces and equipment. Working as part of a friendly team, you’ll ensure activities are inclusive and accessible to all, creating a welcoming environment where every visitor feels able to join in. Most importantly, you’ll be a positive and enthusiastic presence – helping to create fun, memorable experiences for families throughout the summer.
