CHEP operates acircular economy of pallets; they’re rented out to customers and usedthroughout their supply chains – we then collect them and bring themback to plant. Our pallet pool is the largest in the UK and our plantsprocess, repair and re-spray thousands of pallets per day, theSpennymoor site process up to 12,000 per day.
We’re looking for someone to take the lead on our SpennymoorPlant near Durham. The site is currently in the middle of a roll-outof a new automated line and have 45 staff operating across two shifts.We’re looking for someone with operational experience who can leadstrategy, people, and projects on site.
You willdevelop a capable team to deliver all plant objectives and driveoptimal performance whilst being a champion for our values; safety;customer focus; sustainability; and employee experience. Our PlantManager will drive the strategic vision for the site and network withinternal and external stakeholders.
Keyresponsibilities
* Full siteresponsibility and project delivery ownership
* Performance ofDurham plant operations.
* Ensure all Plant activity complieswith CHEP Zero harm policies and H&S legislation.
* Mentor anddevelop the site Leadership Team
* Maintain an accuratereporting of stock with a regular audit cycle.
* Drive apositive employee experience and culture on site
* Ensureprocesses are compliant to ISO 45001 and 9001 standards.
* Drive employee engagement and build relationships with theunion
What you’ll need;
* Prior fast-paced operational managementexperience in a production, manufacturing, or logistics
* Experienceleading teams in a KPI and safety focused environment
* Abilityto build stakeholder relationships
* Ideally experience in CIapplications do deliver strategic objectives
* Experience withworking within a unionized environment is preferable
