We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Science Technician to join our science department as soon as possible. The successful candidate will help deliver high-quality science education by managing and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing practical lessons, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and providing technical support to teachers and students. If you have a passion for science, strong organisational skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Technical expertise: Preparing and maintaining science apparatus, solutions, and materials for lessons and assessments.
* Health and safety knowledge: Familiarity with regulations and best practices, including CLEAPSS guidance, and the ability to ensure safe laboratory practices.
* Organisational skills: Managing requisitions, stock, budgets, and records effectively.
* Leadership and teamwork: Experience training and directing staff, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Problem-solving: Confidence in repairing, maintaining, and adapting equipment and resources.
* Flexibility and initiative: Adaptable to support special events, manage varied tasks, and stay updated with developments in science education.
