Role: Rough Sleeper Recovery Worker
You will engage clients and assist them in moving away from street-based lifestyles. Providing support to overcome barriers to accessing positive services is key. This role is ideal for someone experienced in substance misuse issues, seeking to advance their career within a supportive charity environment that promotes personal and professional growth.
Location and Salary
Where: Croydon
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (dependent on experience, based on full-time hours, pro-rata for part-time)
Allowances: £2,195.72 Outer London Weighting, pro-rata
Responsibilities
* Work some unsocial hours, with knowledge of homelessness, mental health, criminal justice system, or substance use preferred.
* Maintain accurate records and paperwork, demonstrating good attention to detail.
* Engage with individuals experiencing street-based living, including rough sleepers and beggars, to connect them with appropriate services and support their transition to settled lifestyles.
* Empower service users through involvement and choice, working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
* Develop service users' personal strengths and social networks, considering their country of origin when relevant.
* Work confidently and patiently with clients who may be reluctant to engage or exhibit challenging behavior.
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with good IT skills.
* Work proactively, independently, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
* Possess a good understanding of mental health interventions and practices.
* Work well within a team, collaborating with professionals, agencies, and stakeholders.
* Manage change effectively, prioritizing service user needs.
* Follow information governance protocols to ensure data safety and confidentiality.
* Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the development of others.
