Our client, an independent, international UK freight forwarder, is looking for a Seafreight Import Clerk to join their team in Liverpool.
We are looking for a candidates with 'Hands on' with a good operational know-how of import/Export procedures.
As the Seafreight Import Clerk, you will be creating files both manually and on the computer system, and receiving / checking relevant documentation then passing on to shipping lines.
Seafreight Import Clerk Duties:
1. Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
2. Checking manifests once received
3. Dealing with customs clearance
4. Quoting rates
Skills required from Seafreight Import Clerk:
5. Excellent customer service skills and commercial sense is vital
6. Accuracy and attention to detail skills
7. Confident telephone manner
8. Good administrative and MS Excel skills
This role would suit someone starting out in freight forwarding, who is looking to learn the fundamentals to build a long-term career in the industry.
In return, the successful Seafreight Import Clerk will receive a negotiable salary depending on experience and qualifications.
