We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme, starting ASAP. This is a 12‑month contract with a day rate of £860 (Inside IR35 via PAYE Umbrella).
🔧 What you’ll be doing :
* Leading commissioning activities from Practical Completion (PC) to energisation.
* Collaborating with stakeholders in joint commissioning meetings.
* Liaising with the ESO for EON / ION requirements.
* Ensuring seamless transition from construction to commissioning.
* Applying and restoring protection settings during commissioning.
* Diagnosing and resolving protection circuit issues.
* Creating detailed commissioning switching programs and schedules.
* Reporting weekly to senior management.
🎯 What you’ll bring :
* Proven experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer.
* Strong background in transmission substations.
* Hands‑on experience with NG ESO / NGET.
* NG Persons authorisation – highly desirable.
📍 Location : Remote‑based with flexibility for site and vessel visits, plus occasional travel to the Glasgow office.
🛡️ Clearance Required : BPSS (DBS / DS, Financial Probity, Employment History), Medical Questionnaire, and Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
