The University of York’s Trials Unit is seeking an enthusiastic software developer to work on bespoke systems that support clinical trials. You will primarily be developing systems written in C# MVC utilising GitHub as a cloud-based source control solution. You will also work with SQL Server to create, query and update data and GitHub as a source control solution.
Following a recent expansion across other areas of the Clinical Trials Unit, the development team is seeing an increase in the demand for bespoke applications that support the management of clinical trials. This role requires technical expertise, creativity and strategic thinking. There is scope for initiative and innovation, coupled with access to many of the latest technologies. Due to the nature of the role, there is a variety of work available, and if there is a particular area of development you would like to specialise in this could be possible.

Role
You will be working on a number of clinical trials, designing, developing and maintaining the systems that support the delivery of clinical trials. This will include the following:
* Develop web-based systems using .NET C# and SQL.
* Managing issues and pull requests within GitHub.
* Implementing automation of various development tasks using GitHub Actions.
* Azure cloud development.
* Providing technical support to system users.
* Contributing to system documentation and the team wiki with best practice and guidelines.
Additionally, systems often require unique functionality depending on the requests of our customers; there is scope for initiative and innovation couple with access to many of the latest technologies.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
* Experience of development using .NET, SQL or other databases and data storage solutions
* Experience of involvement in IT projects covering multiple stages of the project lifecycle
* Ability to analyse, interpret and report data/information
* Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats, including the use of a variety of digital tools
