Job Summary
The Senior Data and Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring regulatory requirements are met, managing and verifying learner data for accuracy and compliance with funding rules. They will lead on quality-checking data, conducting reconciliations, monitoring data dashboards, resolving data errors, ensuring timely and accurate funding claim submissions, and providing guidance to stakeholders on apprenticeship compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of data management and compliance frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Data Management & Quality
* Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of learner data (ILR) in line with SLAs.
Compliance & Funding
* Manage learner onboarding, eligibility checks, and funding records to ensure compliance with funding rules and funding guidelines.
* Quality assure data and compliance activity across the team, ensuring processes and documentation meet regulatory standards.
* Lead on provider uploads and act as the main contact for the Apprenticeship Service.
Funding Assurance & Risk
* Mitigate financial risk by identifying and resolving errors, implementing corrective measures, and reviewing PDSAT reports.
* Support internal audits and deliver funding assurance schedules, reporting on compliance performance and risks.
Stakeholder Leadership
* Provide expert guidance and training to the Data & Compliance team and wider staff on funding and compliance.
* Manage relationships with employers and partners, ensuring clear guidance and compliance across apprenticeship processes.
* Lead and support the team in managing workflows effectively to maintain quality and compliance standards.
* Monitor and reconcile data across internal systems and the Apprenticeship Service to ensure consistency and audit readiness.
Skills:
Leadership & Sector Knowledge – Proven experience leading a data and compliance team within the work-based learning sector, with strong knowledge of current funding rules, Ofsted, and audit requirements.
Data & Compliance Expertise – Skilled in interpreting and applying funding and compliance regulations, including GDPR and data protection legislation, with experience using PDSAT and reports
Systems & Analysis – Advanced user of MI systems and reporting tools, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Decision Making & Problem Solving – Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound decisions, resolve issues, and ensure accuracy under pressure.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
