Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Technical CAD Estimator for our client based in North Lanarkshire.
Role Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong CAD and draughting skills to play a key role in a technical and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will focus primarily on producing and modifying detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, supporting the design and delivery of bespoke projects. This role also includes elements of estimating, project support, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce, revise, and manage technical drawings using AutoCAD for use in planning, manufacture, and installation
* Assist in the design and layout of bespoke systems and equipment, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client specifications
* Undertake occasional site visits to gather measurements, assess requirements, and support project planning
* Collaborate with engineers and the wider technical team to develop drawing solutions and ensure smooth project execution
* Support the estimation process by preparing quotations, bills of materials, and proposal documentation
* Maintain and update customer and project information using CRM systems
* Liaise with clients from project initiation through to completion, offering technical input where required
* Contribute to project coordination, including ordering materials and equipment, and general administrative duties
* Maintain strong communication with customers and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement and up-selling
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a CAD or draughting within a technical or engineering environment
* Proficient in AutoCAD experience essential
* 3D modelling experience is advantageous
* Relevant qualification in design, engineering, or a related technical discipline
* Recent graduates with strong AutoCAD knowledge will also be considered
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Familiarity with CRM systems and general project administration
* Full UK driving licence is essential
