Senior Payroll Administrator – Lead Payroll Operations
Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for your next challenge in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment? I am seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to lead the delivery of accurate, compliant payroll services.
In this NEW key role, you'll take ownership of end‑to‑end payroll processes, provide guidance to a dedicated team, and help drive continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead payroll operations across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles, ensuring timely and compliant processing.
* Review and validate payroll outputs, including statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, RTI, pensions), ensuring full compliance with current legislation.
* Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll queries from contractors, clients, and internal teams.
* Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders and liaise with external bodies such as HMRC when required.
* Provide leadership support, stepping in for the Head of Payroll as needed to maintain operational continuity.
About You
* Strong understanding of both weekly and monthly payroll processing.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.
* A natural leader who can mentor and support junior team members.
* Ideally CIPP qualified (or currently working towards qualification).
