Perfect Household Staff are delighted to be assisting a professional family in Brighton in their search for a reliable, experienced, and proactive Nanny to provide after-school care and light household support for their eight-year-old child. The family consists of two working parents who commute to London for work, alongside their eight-year-old son and an older child who is now in senior school and requires less hands-on care.
Brighton is a vibrant and culturally rich coastal city with excellent schools, fantastic transport links to London, and a welcoming, family-friendly community. The family are currently renovating their permanent home and will be moving back in June 2026, at which point the role may evolve to include additional household management responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for school drop-offs and pick-ups, preparing nutritious meals for the children, managing the children's laundry and bedroom tidiness, and providing occasional household errands such as posting packages, collecting deliveries, and ensuring the fridge is stocked with essentials for the children. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who enjoys working independently, is highly organised, and takes pride in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment for a school-aged child.

Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:00/4:00/5:00 PM (dependent on after-school activities and child's schedule)

Salary: £20–£23 per hour (gross, self-employed basis) – negotiable for the right candidate

Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily school drop-offs (approximately 8:30–9:00 AM) and pick-ups (between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM,)
* Supervise and care for the eight-year-old after school, ensuring his safety and well-being
* Prepare nutritious dinners and snacks
* Assist with homework and ensure the child completes daily tasks and responsibilities
* Occasionally prepare dinner for the older child if required, depending on their schedule
* Ensure the children have a structured, calm, and supportive after-school routine
* Manage the children's laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, and putting away clothes
* Make the children's beds and keep their bedrooms tidy and organised
* Check food supplies for the children and either inform the principal when restocking is needed or purchase essentials independently and expense back to the family
* Keep the kitchen and children's areas clean and tidy
* Collect and return packages from the post office
Requirements:
* Three or more years of private Nanny or Nanny/Housekeeper experience
* Two excellent, checkable verbal references from previous private household employers
* Conversational English (fluent)
* Valid UK work permit
* Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
