Job Description
Making decisions and providing professional advice on the enforcement of Planning Legislation, with a specific focus on planning conditions in accordance with agreed objectives.
Requirements
* Drafting recommendations and taking action on breaches of planning conditions and associated enforcement cases.
* Carrying out effective negotiations to achieve compliance with planning conditions and other related breaches of planning control.
* Drafting recommendations to Committee in accordance with the Enforcement Charter.
* Responding to work that has commenced on-site and the completion of works, working closely with Transportation to address Highway Safety breaches in rural areas.
* Collaborating with case Planning Officers and colleagues to resolve condition breaches.
* Preparing planning appeal and court submissions on behalf of the Council.
* Contributing to the effectiveness of the service.
The Individual
* Experience of working in a Development Management Team.
* Previous experience of investigation and research work.
* General understanding of Local Government issues.
* HNC Qualification in Built Environment or related discipline.
* High level of personal initiative and ability to work independently.
* Diplomacy and effective communication skills with a wide range of customers.
* Excellent negotiation and time management skills.
* Good oral, written communication, and numeracy skills.
* Analytical abilities and research skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Ability to interpret planning legislation and policies.

* Organizational skills to manage a caseload.

* Willingness and ability to travel within Moray using a car/van.

Starting Salary: £37,209.90 per annum (pro-rata)
