Offer description

An exciting position has become available within the children's services for a Psychological Clinical Lead for our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Barking & Dagenham. The Psychological Clinical Lead will lead and drive the service forward working with key stakeholders across Health, Social Care, and Education in order to deliver a seamless service including working very closely with our Autism service. We have recently partnered with the University of Cambridge to drive excellence and research in the field of paediatric autism, and this will be an opportunity for the right candidate to drive these forward by working in collaboration to drive clinical excellence within CAMHS and our Autism services.

You will be clinically responsible for the CAMHS Services portfolio and pathways across Barking and Dagenham psychological therapies as well as providing directorate-wide leadership on specific issues. You will therefore have well-honed performance and clinical management skills. You will also head up a range of service development and Quality Improvement initiatives directly as well as working with and through your teams, colleagues, and peers to deliver directorate and system-wide improvement.

Your ability to engage and lead teams through change and act as an expert negotiator will be vital. You will focus on outcomes and be motivated by your drive to deliver the highest quality care while ensuring the best possible patient experience.

This is an excellent opportunity in a high-profile organisation providing stretch, development, and challenge for the successful candidate.

Payment of the incentive is applied with 50% paid at the end of the probationary period (typically six months) and then 50% at the end of year two. This welcome package is applicable to external candidates only. It is expected that you remain employed with NELFT for 2 years; should you leave within 2 years, the Trust reserves the right to reclaim any monies paid.

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Minimum Requirements

You need to be a qualified psychological practitioner (e.g., psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist, cognitive behavioural therapist) fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g., HCPC).

You will require strategic understanding and excellent communication skills to develop effective relationships with key partners, including the ICB, Local Authority, GPs, voluntary sector organisations, and other statutory agencies. You will have extensive clinical and operational leadership experience across CAMHS to support the teams, acting as an effective team member whilst working on your own initiative. You will be responsible for the overall clinical supervision structure of qualified staff. You will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social care professionals and agencies.

Please see attached job description for further information and we would be delighted to speak with you if you have any other queries.
