 
        
        Due to retirement, we are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Practice Manager to provide leadership toour team, manage the operational and financial aspects and work with thepartners on strategy and business development.
We are a friendly team, with 6 GPPartners and a list size of over 12,500 patients, operating from modernpurpose-built premises. There are excellent transport links, and we are closeto the town centre of Welwyn Garden City.
The role is responsible forensuring the practice operates effectively, HR, finance, compliance anddeveloping and implementing new systems, policies and processes to improveefficiency, support patient care and meet contractual, legal and CQCcompliance.
A Deputy Practice Manager andReception Manager support this role.
The postholder will support,guide and develop staff and provide advice and guidance to the partners. Theywill also work collaboratively with practices as part of WGC PCN, the local GPFederation, Ephedra and the ICB.
The successful candidate willhave a positive outlook, excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly,approachable manner. Strong understanding of HR, finance, and NHS regulatoryrequirements. This is a busy role and excellent time management, andorganisational skills are a must have.

Job responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
The following are the core responsibilitiesof the practice manager. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry outother tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload andstaffing levels.
Co-ordinate Partners meetings, prepare agenda, produce and circulateminutes, implement and review actions.
Be familiar with the Partnership Agreement, monitor compliance andrecommend remedial action if required.
Management of Practice finances. Establish and maintain accuraterecords and accounting systems for practice finance and to maximise practiceincome.
Prepare and submit claims for Enhanced Services; CQRS, HCC, LES etc
Preparation of year end figures and prompt submission to practiceaccountants and liaise re queries.
Co-ordinate monthly payroll and submit to practice payroll company.Ensure PAYE and Pension payments made on time
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice,ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
Direct line management of the following staff: DeputyPractice Manager, Secretaries and Nurses
Support and mentor staff
Develop and implement effective staff appraisal andmonitoring systems in conjunction with DPM and Reception Manager
Managing the recruitment process for the practice andprovide general human resources management, ensuring compliance with currentemployment legislation
Arrange and oversee staff induction and training, ensurestaff are adequately trained to fulfil their role
Maintain up-to-date HR documentation including employmentcontracts, employee handbook, and employment policies including grievance anddisciplinary procedure
Keep up to date with employment legislations and ensurePractice polies comply with statutory requirements; promote best practice
Actively engage with the PCN, attending meetings andother duties as required
Managing contracts for services
Develop practice protocols and procedures, review andupdate as required
Work with CQC Registered Manager to ensure practicecompliance with CQC regulations and inspection processes
Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinating the reviewing and updating of all practicepolicies and procedures
Developing, implementing and embedding an efficient businessresilience plan
Managing the Patient Participation Group in conjunctionwith the Lead Partner and DPM
Managing all complaints effectively through the PracticeComplaints Procedure, complete annual complaints return to NHSE
Ensuring compliance with legislation and deal withdisciplinary issues accordingly
The management of the premises, including health andsafety aspects such as risk assessments and mandatory training
Ensuring compliance with IT security and IG, completionof the IG toolkit annually and disaster recovery plans
Coordinating of all projects within the practice asrequired
Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of trainingto enable them to carry out their individual roles and responsibilitieseffectively
Maintaining the practice and NHS choices websites
Management of holiday systems for staff and partners;overseeing locum cover to ensure practice adequately staffed.
Monitoring and implementation of practice sick pay policy
Completion of monthly workforce reporting, NWRS
Completion of annual eDeclaration, to ensure practicecomplies with NHS contractual requirements
Implement and lead on full range of health & safetymeasures to ensure compliance with current legislation, including firesafety, gas safety, electrical safety, security, legionella, infection &prevention, risks assessments etc.

Qualifications
 * Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
