About the Role:
We are an established and growing accountancy practice based in Shirley, and we are looking for a motivated Tax Senior to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with significant experience in tax, looking to work in a supportive and flexible environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of personal tax clients and working alongside the Head of Private Client Tax on a range of tax compliance and advisory tasks, including taking the lead on P11Ds. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing self-assessment tax returns, and P11D forms, with an interest in developing into advisory work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and submit Self-Assessment Tax Returns for a diverse client base, including sole traders, landlords, company directors, and High Net Worth Individuals.
* Complete and submit P11D forms
* Prepare and review Capital Gains Tax (CGT) computations and related disclosures
* Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and provide tax advice where required
* Communicate with HMRC on behalf of clients to resolve queries and handle correspondence
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records using tax software and internal systems
* Assist the Head of Private Client Tax with advisory work and trust compliance
* Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and best practice
Requirements:
Essential:
* Confidence managing a large portfolio of tax returns for directors, self-employed, and landlords
* 2 years experience with OMB work
* Experience preparing a range of P11Ds
* Strong understanding of employment taxes
* Experience liaising with HMRC on a range of simple and more complex issues
* Willingness to extend knowledge into trust compliance
* Interest in and aptitude for advisory work
* Attention to detail
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
* A passion for delivering excellent client service
Desirable:
* Qualified or part-qualified ATT, CTA, or STEP
* Experience with trusts and/or estates
* Experience in advisory work
* Knowledge of CCH software
