About Us
Our Supported Living Services in Bridgend provide essential support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex behaviours, physical disabilities, dementia, and complex health needs. We are dedicated to promoting choice, independence, and personalised care for the people we support.
The Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Social Care Workers. In this role, you will:
* Empower individuals to make informed choices and decisions about all aspects of their lives.
* Provide sensitive and understanding support, addressing physical, practical, emotional, and vocational needs.
* Assist with household tasks, shopping, food preparation, personal hygiene, and social activities.
* Encourage and support individuals to integrate into their local community, promoting physical and social presence in community-based facilities such as educational, occupational, and leisure activities.
* Work within a supportive team environment, receiving appropriate training, one-to-one supervision, and regular team meetings.
* Maintain a positive and supportive attitude with an understanding of the issues faced by people with disabilities.
* Demonstrate flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, nights, and bank holidays, as required by the needs of the service.
* Commit to promoting personalised care and high standards of service.
* Be able to register with Social Care Wales and complete the required qualification if not already held.
* Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Requirements and Qualifications
* A valid driving licence is a requirement for this post.
* Enhanced DBS check (DBS) for Adults on the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced with Adults Barred list is a requirement for this post.
* Ability to register with Social Care Wales and complete the required qualification if not already held.
* Willingness to engage in a supportive and dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional development and career progression.
