About Us:
Canterbury Golf Course was designed by world famous golf course architect Harry Colt and opened for play in 1927. It has matured over the years into a fine parkland course which is recognised as one of Kent's most prestigious and picturesque golf courses. We take immense pride in delivering an exceptional golfing experience, and our grounds are an integral part of that. As a Greenkeeping Apprentice, you will play a key role in maintaining our course's beautiful landscape and will have the opportunity to grow your skills in an inspiring and supportive environment.
The Role:
We are looking for a keen and reliable individual with a genuine interest in golf and a passion for the outdoors to join our team as a Greenkeeping Apprentice. In this role, you will receive hands-on training alongside our skilled greenkeeping team, learning the fundamentals of turf care, equipment operation, and course maintenance. You'll gain valuable qualifications while helping to ensure the course is always presented to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with maintaining the golf course's greens, fairways, tees, and roughs.
· Operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
· Perform routine tasks such as mowing, seeding, and aerating the turf.
· Help prepare the course for daily play, ensuring all areas are well-kept and ready for golfers.
· Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
· Work closely with the team to ensure the course meets our high-quality standards.
Requirements:
· A genuine interest in golf and greenkeeping.
· A keen, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to work.
· Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality results.
· Ability to work well within a team and take direction.
· Good physical fitness for the demands of the role.
· A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
· A full, clean UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
