Position Overview
We are looking for Scrub Practitioners who will support the Obstetrics & Gynaecology theatres and our Colorectal MDT. You will provide high‑quality, patient‑centred surgical care, support and mentor future healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of trainees.

Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain scrub equipment and instruments for obstetrics, gynaecology and colorectal surgeries.
* Assist in the operating room, ensuring sterility and surgical safety.
* Mentor and support future healthcare professionals, including trainees and students.
* Actively participate in peri‑operative clinical education and quality improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of training programmes for theatre staff.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of policies, procedures, clinical governance and ethical practice.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Appropriate NMC/HCPC registration.
* RN1, RN2 general nursing posts or ODP.
* Evidence of continuing education or development for more experienced Band 5 nurses.
* Degree or diploma (where applicable).
* NMC recognised mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards within 18 months.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to practice.
* Awareness of changes within nursing practice.
* Knowledge of clinical governance and its relevance to practice.
* Evidence of clinical competence in obstetrics, gynaecology or colorectal surgery.
* Knowledge of leadership and management.
* Experience in research and development.
* Knowledge of ethical issues.

Remuneration
£32,073 to £39,043 per annum, pro rata.
