Position: Area Engineering Manager Hybrid - Warrington
Job Type: Permanent / Contract (Inside IR35)
We are seeking a dynamic Area Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in delivering technical solutions for the allocated area. As the Area Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for forming, leading, and directing the team to ensure that the technical solution meets all corresponding requirements, performance conditions, and constraints within the Functional or Requirements Specification. You will operate within the overarching arrangements defined by the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) and ensure compliance with the Sellafield Ltd. Project Delivery Fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Development and Delivery: Implement the Engineering Elements of the Project Execution Plan for the area. Lead the specification and development of a solution considering full lifecycle requirements and satisfying Area Requirement Specifications. Identify design, engineering, technical, and safety case risks, contributing to remedial action planning and implementation. Define hazard management strategy for the area and ensure proportional hazard management.
2. Safe and Legal Compliance: Oversee compliance with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements. Carry out Principal Designer Responsibilities under the CDM Regulations. Ensure oversight of the application of Engineering Design Safety Principles (EDSPs) for the area.
3. Requirements Management: Define, manage, and report technical scope and planned products via a Product Breakdown Structure.
Essential Experience
Background in engineering with a successful delivery record, including influencing professional engineers and guiding technical personnel. Significant experience in an engineering design environment with knowledge of engineering as a key attribute. Recent experience in regulated and quality-assured systems, preferably within the nuclear industry.
Essential Qualifications
Higher Education Qualification in Engineering or equivalent (Minimum: HNC; Preferred: M Eng).
