London Hire Community Services provides accessible home-to-school transport services for users unable to access public transport. Our services operate under full passenger vehicle operator’s licence regulations and adhere to industry standards, prioritizing safety for passengers and staff, governed by OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety management.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the driver in ensuring passenger safety and comfort.
* Help passengers board and disembark, including those with disabilities, following Health and Safety guidelines.
* Supervise and monitor passengers during transit, ensuring their welfare.
* Assist with operation of passenger lifts or relevant equipment as needed.
* Secure wheelchairs correctly using suitable equipment.
* Ensure passengers in wheelchairs are properly secured with safety belts or other equipment.
* Communicate patiently and informatively with passengers and clients.
* Report delays and incidents according to depot procedures.
* Ensure the vehicle remains secure during use.
* Utilize communication equipment effectively to ensure smooth service operations.

* Understanding of disabilities and related needs.
* Patience and a calm attitude when delivering services.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
