The role:
An exciting supervisory opportunity has arisen within the Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH) Patient Catering team. The post holder will support the provision of quality patient care within the IRH in the delivery of Patient Catering Services.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
This is a permanent post based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital
The shift pattern for this post is 1430-1930 (Rotational)
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities:
The post requires a dynamic, forward thinking individual who possesses excellent communication skills, is conversant with IT applications including Menu pick and all Microsoft packages. In addition the post holder must demonstrate an ability to engage with staff effectively and to consistently produce high quality standards of work, be highly adaptable and have an ability to prioritise workloads within a pressurised environment and have good customer care skills.
1. Staff Supervision and dealing with challenging situations
2. Staff Training/ TURAS reviews
3. management of leave requests and rotas
4. completion of audits in relation to the service provision and Food Safety (HACCP) requirements
5. Full compliance with all required legislation, policies, procedures and regulations, Departmental Audits of kitchens, dealing with patient complaints.
6. You are required to have a robust knowledge of Food Safety and will need certified in Intermediate Food Hygiene. In addition you will require to have knowledge and experience in Health & Safety, Infection Control, COSHH, Lifting & handling and the use of all machinery required to be used in the provision of the Patient Catering Service
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
7. Knowledge of all aspects of catering services (induction training will be provided for new starters).
8. Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided).
9. Meals regeneration and service (training provided).
10. Good communication and customer care skills.
11. Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH (training provided).
12. Knowledge of Manual Handling (training provided).
13. Knowledge of Infection Control practices (training provided).
14. Ability to work under pressure.
15. Flexibility and adaptability.
16. Competence in staff training.
17. Experience in staff supervision.
