About Us:
At our Outstanding Nursery, we take pride in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in the areas of Horwich, Bolton, Adlington, Blackrod, Wigan and Westhoughton. Our spacious and well-resourced facility is highly regarded for its commitment to excellence. We are currently seeking a playworker to join our dedicated and fun-loving team.
Position Overview
As a Playworker, you will play a key role in supporting children in both our wraparound care and nursery setting.
This role is to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
There are a number of options of shifts for the position which can be discussed at the interview stage:
7:30am-6pm
7:30am - 9am
3pm - 6pm
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting our wraparound care sessions (7:30-9 AM & 3-6 PM), providing engaging and fun activities for children before and after their school day.
* Working in the nursery rooms between 9 AM – 3 PM to support children's learning and play, and covering staff training as needed.
* Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
* Encouraging children's independence, social skills, and emotional development through creative and structured play.
* Supporting children with mealtimes, personal care, and transitions throughout the day.
* Following nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety regulations.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a genuine passion for working with children. You should:
* Have experience working with children in an early years or playwork setting.
* Be creative, energetic, and able to engage children in play-based activities.
* Have good communication and teamwork skills.
* Be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of the nursery.
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) a relevant childcare/playwork qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Hold a valid DBS check or be willing to complete one before starting.
