The Wilts and Berks Canal Trust is the longest canal restoration in the UK and has recently developed its 25 year vision and 5 year business plan. This is an exciting time to join the trust and contribute to the 9 communities along the route.
What difference will you make?
We already have an experienced finance team in place. However, your input in the role and your expertise will shape how we present ourselves to our members, service users, stakeholders, funders and general public. Working with the CEO, Trustees and Directors you will help to help define and create an effective finance function to deliver the Trust’s restoration plans.
What are we looking for?
* Strong leadership and understanding of the need for consistent management processes
* Chartered accountant
* Ability to manage diverse teams and liaise with internal stakeholder groups
* Ability to develop structure, recruit and motivate
* Personal computing facilities including reliable internet access
Location: Hybrid
What will you be doing?
* Work with the CEO, Trustees and Directors to help define and create an effective finance function to deliver the Trust’s restoration plans
* Provide progress reports to the CEO and Leadership Team
* Chair the Finance Team Meetings
* Development of individual tasks with the Head of Accounts and the team
* Motivation of the volunteer team
* Working with the HR manager to interview and ensure induction of new finance team members
* Preparation of the annual budget
