About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Operative to join our Repairs and Maintenance team following a recent internal promotion. This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of practical ability, customer service, and teamwork. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks that help maintain our properties to a high standard.
Role Responsibilities
1. Supporting will be supporting with brick work repairs and concreating.
2. Gutter clearance
3. Use ladders to support fixing roof’s that are two story properties.
4. Supporting the Roofers in day to day tasks such as flat roofs, pitched roofs and lead work.
5. Work collaboratively within the Repairs and Maintenance team, where strong teamwork and reliability are essential
6. Deliver excellent customer service across all tasks, maintaining a professional and customer-focused attitude
7. Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents, using clear verbal communication and good interpersonal skills
8. Make decisions and solve problems independently when needed, demonstrating confidence and initiative
9. Maintain high standards of safety, quality and cost control, with a methodical and dependable approach to work
Role Criteria;
10. Experience in the above responsibilities
11. Proven experience in general property repairs, refurbishment or maintenance
12. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
13. Excellent customer service skills, especially when working in tenanted properties
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team across varied environments
15. Good organisational skills with a focus on quality and cost control
16. Comfortable working in both residential and communal areas under contract guidelines
17. A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering practical solutions
18. Full UK driving licence
