We're looking for an all-round technical wizard to join our team who can help us keep our amazing hands-on exhibits working at their very best — so that visitors can enjoy interacting with them time and time again.
You'll need to have knowledge and experience that ranges from mechanical skills to getting your head around various IT systems — and everything in between
You'll also need to be able to turn your hand to more general buildings maintenance ensuring a safe environment for yourself and visitors, enjoy the challenges of working in a busy, 'live' environment, and work well as part of a small team.

The Role
* To ensure that our exceptional reputation for exhibits is upheld through ensuring high levels of reliability for our visitors.
* To maintain our building and facilities to a high quality.
Responsibilities
* To be responsible for the day to day building maintenance and repair for our Centre including responsive and planned maintenance.
* To regularly monitor the exhibits on the exhibition floor, identifying remedial works and scheduling those works outside of opening hours where possible, to ensure exhibits are of the highest quality and reliability.
* To be responsible for the ongoing maintenance including test, diagnose, repair and service of our exhibits, ordering parts and consumables as required.
* To manage all services including heat, light, water, plumbing and ventilation to ensure they work at peak efficiency using the Building Management System to increase cost effectiveness.
* To diagnose faults with the building facilities and to work pro-actively to repair and return to a good working order.
* To undertake daily, weekly and monthly checks including daily H&S checks before Centre opens.
* To be responsible for all equipment and tools in the workshop ensuring maintenance requirements are met and the area is maintained in a safe, clean and tidy manner.
* To be responsible for safety checks including fire alarm testing, water temperature and chlorination checking.
* To feed and maintain our ants and fish as required.
Supporting Duties
* To maintain accurate technical and H&S records and documentation for audit and provide accurate and clear reports to the Maintenance Manager and Director of Experiences.
* To work with the Maintenance Manager on planned third party maintenance via contractors.
* To work safely and carry out risk assessments, safety checks, training and other health and safety measures when required.
* To assist with emergencies, taking action as required and assisting if necessary with rescue and evacuation of the building.

Hours of Work :Full-time (including weekends and Bank Holidays on 7-day rota)
