We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our dedicated Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Daycase Unit at Velindre Cancer Services.
You will work closely with registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to support the safe delivery of cancer treatments in a busy outpatient setting.
Your role will include preparing clinic areas, supporting patients before, during and after treatment, undertaking delegated clinical observations, assisting with cannulation, venepuncture and central line access, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring high standards of infection prevention and patient comfort.
The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare experience, excellent communication skills, and a caring, professional approach to supporting patients through their treatment journey.

Works as part of the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients within the outpatient setting under supervision provided by a registered healthcare professional
Undertakes personal care activities and clinical care duties with minimal support and supervision as delegated by a registered healthcare professional in accordance with the HEIW All Wales Guidelines for Delegation
Ensures the registered healthcare professional is regularly updated on the patients/client's condition and progress
Ensures the working environment is safe and hygienic following infection prevention and control policies and processes
Contributes to the teaching and supervision of students and junior staff
Delivers role in accordance with Health Board/Trust Values and Code of Conduct for HCSW's in Wales
