Job Responsibilities
1. Maintain sanitary levels throughout service areas, storage areas, equipment, and work areas, using interventions when appropriate to meet residents' and facility needs, in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations.
2. Understand the needs of the resident population.
3. Follow department practices, procedures, safety regulations, policies, and guidelines to maintain effective housekeeping services for Heritage.
4. Ensure proper sanitation and handling of equipment, complying with health and sanitation requirements.
5. Maintain areas and equipment for safety and convenience, operating to manufacturer’s specifications, and report repairs or replacements needed.
6. Adhere to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies, including hand washing, PPE use, and handling infectious materials.
7. Keep work areas free of hazards like spills, excess supplies, and equipment, following safety rules and referring to materials safety data when necessary.
8. Follow OSHA regulations when bending, lifting, and using equipment; use safety gear such as back braces and mechanical lifts when needed.
9. Develop good working relationships with inter-departmental personnel to ensure proper planning and maintenance of services.
10. Follow work schedules, working beyond hours in emergencies, on weekends, and holidays when necessary, and temporarily filling other positions as needed.
11. Drive Heritage vehicles for errands and transportation as directed.
12. Report all accidents or incidents to your supervisor immediately, including minor ones and any work-related injuries.
13. Participate in in-service education, on-the-job training, and orientation programs.
14. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, including protected health information, and report any unauthorized disclosures.
15. Perform other duties as requested by the Executive Director to meet residents' and the facility's needs.
16. Provide excellent service to patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Preferred experience in housekeeping services.
* Ability to speak English clearly.
* Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Position Details
The primary purpose of this position is to clean and disinfect private and common areas within Heritage, understanding residents' needs.
Schedule: 40 hours/week, rotating days, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, occasional weekends and holidays.
