We are currently looking to recruit a hands‑on Infrastructure Executive to support the stability, security and performance of our IT services while contributing to our cloud‑first strategy. Where will you be based? This role can be based from our Durham office, but we would expect you to travel and work from other offices from time to time. How many hours will you be working? This is a full-time role which is 35 hours per week, however at EMG Solicitor we work flexibly, it’s not a 9 -to-5 role, but we do expect the work to be done, when you do it can be largely up to yourself, your Team Leader and the requirements of your clients. A brief overview of the role: Acting as a 2nd‑line escalation point, you will handle more complex incidents, support improvements to our Microsoft 365 and Intune environment, assist with project delivery, and provide operational support across networking, cloud, and core infrastructure for 200 colleagues across 6 offices. What will we expect from you: Key Responsibilities Microsoft 365 & Endpoint Manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Endpoint Management, Security & Compliance). Support Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity tasks such as user provisioning, group access and MFA resets. Manage Intune for device compliance, configuration profiles, Autopilot deployments and application deployments. Support meeting room technology, Teams telephony and end‑user collaboration tools. Infrastructure & Cloud Assist with hybrid infrastructure tasks and routine Azure operations. Support cloud migration activities and service improvements under the guidance of the Infrastructure Manager. Assist with security operations and audit evidence for Lexcel/Cyber Essentials. Support onsite MFD/Printers with cloud enablement Manage and maintain various cloud platforms relevant to the business. Networking & Wi‑Fi Monitor and support LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi across all offices. Assist with troubleshooting switches and Wi-Fi access points. Projects & Continuous Improvement Support the Infrastructure Manager in delivering infrastructure and cloud improvement projects. Contribute to endpoint refresh cycles, application rollouts and infrastructure maintenance tasks. Maintain high‑quality documentation, diagrams, asset records and assist in identifying automation opportunities (Intune/PowerShell where applicable). Service & Support Act as the 2nd‑line escalation point for incidents from the Service Desk; own more complex tickets to resolution. Handle BAU activities across M365, Intune, Windows endpoints, and general infrastructure tasks. Produce and update knowledge base articles and help develop 1st‑line capability. To be able to perform this job you will need. Essential Experience Proven 2nd‑line (or strong 1st/2nd) in a multi‑site environment. Hands‑on with Microsoft 365 admin (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, Defender) and Entra ID (Azure AD). Good working knowledge of Intune: Autopilot, profiles, compliance policies, app deployment. Solid Windows 11 and Office apps troubleshooting; PowerShell for admin tasks. Networking fundamentals: IP, DHCP/DNS, Wi‑Fi and basic firewall understanding. Desirable (Nice to Have) Exposure to legal tech such as Practice Management systems. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint/Identity/Office 365 Basic Azure knowledge. Experience implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) and SCIM for secure identity and access management. Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell) Experience handling DSAR requests within M365 Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Log Analytics or network monitoring systems. Understanding of Conditional Access and Zero Trust principles. Experience using Cisco Meraki equipment Experience in regulated or professional services environments. Qualifications & Certifications Full UK driving licence (for inter‑office travel) preferred. Soft Skills Clear communicator, able to translate technical detail into user‑friendly language. Strong ownership attitude; comfortable managing priorities and resolving issues under pressure. Curious, proactive, and comfortable adopting new cloud technologies Collaborative and team‑oriented, able to mentor junior colleagues where appropriate.
