PLEASE NOTE - THIS ROLE IS INTERNAL ONLY Secondment length: 6 months, subject to change depending on business needs In this role, you will lead efforts to boost operational efficiency and minimise downtime through expert coordination of site maintenance, waste disposal, and goods in. Your focus will include implementing preventative maintenance programs, sustainable waste practices, and streamlined goods-in procedures, all while championing safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across operations. Responsibilities Maintenance: Enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime through continuous improvement of maintenance processes. Develop and implement a comprehensive planned preventative maintenance program for all equipment. Diagnose, test, and repair equipment, coordinating external services as needed. Plan and implement calibration regime across key assets. Organising and overseeing all audits required to comply with health and safety regulations. Serve as the first point of contact for all maintenance issues. Waste Management: Develop and execute sustainable waste management procedures. Ensure compliance with health and safety and internal waste audit regulations. Coordinate the removal of various waste types as required by the business. Goods In: Implement efficient goods in processing to ensure timely order fulfilment. Manage incoming shipments, stock storage, and quarantine processes for biological materials. Handle repairs, returns, and exchanges for defective products. Asset tagging and compliance with financial needs for incoming equipment. General Responsibilities: First point of contact for all on site contractors and suppliers. Provide ground-level support across the site for operational issues. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and assist with tactical issue resolution. Requirements Essential: Proven experience in operations, maintenance or waste management. Experience or interest in diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions. Understanding of equipment management systems or equivalent. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of compliance with waste audit regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable: Additional certifications or training in maintenance management or waste management. Knowledge of waste management practices including WEEE, Hazardous and MAQ waste streams.
