Production Planner
Contract type: Temporary - Permanent
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30 with early finish on Friday's at 1.30pm
Salary - 30k-35k dependent on experience
Location: Derby, City Centre
We are currently recruiting a Production Planner for our client based in Derby city centre they are part of the manufacturing sector making gangways and other products for the transportation industry. This is an opportunity to work with a business that truly cares for their employee
We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational, time management and communication skills.
As a Production Planner you will have:
* A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
* Professional verbal and written skills
* Flexibility and ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent IT skills
* Exceptional communication skills
* The ability to be both proactive and reactive in a timely and professional manner
* Team work and ability to work independently
Main Duties/Responsibilities
As a Production Planner, day-to-day duties will include
* Run Material Requirement planning (MRP) * Scheduling orders
* Liasing with the shop floor and teams leaders to coordinate orders and ensure they are out on time
* Ensuring orders are in line with customer demand, and updating the customers on the their orders
* Create daily production plans
* Raising work orders
* Dealing with any customer enquries via the phone or email
* Hold meetings to review performance and identify where improvements can be mae
* Scheduling and prioritising allocated work on a daily basis
* Learning the procedures and understand parameters of producing a quality output
* Reading, replying to and following up emails
* Articulating and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and clients
Essential requirements:
* Previous experience as a Production Planner or similar roles
* Experience in using Microsoft Excel, work and outlook
* Experience of planning and scheduling
* IT skills * Ability to work to targets
