General Manager : Sports and Leisure venue
Location: Kent
Salary: A GBP 40,000 - A GBP 45,000+
Are you ready to take your leisure management experience to the next level? Do you enjoy working in a sports and leisure environment? We are seeking a General Manager to oversee the successful day-to-day operations of a large, purpose-built sports arena. If you are an experienced GM looking for a new challenge and capable of ensuring the business and team operate to high standards of operational excellence, ambiance, and customer service—while maximizing sales and profitability—this role is for you.
The ideal candidate should be front-facing, able to lead by example, and proactively drive sales through innovative initiatives and personal influence.
Experience/Knowledge
* Genuine passion for hospitality and leading teams that share this enthusiasm.
* A love for food, drink, customer service, and people.
* An entrepreneurial spirit with business savvy and self-drive, capable of handling ongoing innovation and the challenges of a start-up environment.
* Previous experience managing large teams, preferably in fast-paced, branded operations.
* Proven track record of managing P&L budgets and driving sales.
* Ability to operate a multi-faceted venue with multiple revenue streams.
Responsibilities
* Managing P&L budgets and driving sales.
* Handling HR matters following company procedures.
* Facilitating the day-to-day delivery and smooth operation of the venue.
* Maintaining high standards of organization in front and back of house areas.
* Providing weekly reports to accounts and Operations Director.
* Being customer-focused, maintaining a management presence, and exceeding guest expectations.
* Monitoring and ensuring consistent quality of product and service through observation and interaction.
* Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to grow the business.
* Coordinating with kitchen, bar, and reception teams on daily operations and events.
* Ensuring all staff undergo proper induction, including brand standards, health and safety, and product training.
* Organizing and supporting staff training and development.
* Conducting regular performance reviews for staff.
* Ensuring compliance with legal and company standards for fire safety, health and safety, food hygiene, licensing law, and environmental health.
* Attending training sessions and reinforcing learning through coaching.
