We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Procurement to join our growing organisation.
This role is a group role and therefore travel is required to our regional businesses but could be based from any of Anglia, Bedford, Exeter or Solihull.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Develop and implement a procurement strategy that delivers business wide savings and improved supplier performance.
* Implement process efficiencies and standardization of materials across the business.
* Tender and negotiate group trading agreements to deliver cost savings.
* End to end category and supplier relationship management across all indirect and direct areas of spend.
* Increase rebates through rationalization of the supply chain and by partnering with selected suppliers and manufacturers.
* Manage a robust process to correlate and claim rebates.
* Support the business in achieving sustainability targets by ensuring responsible and ethical sourcing throughout the supply chain.
* In conjunction with Innovations Director monitor technological and material advancements.
* Collaborate with Technical teams to ensure that value engineering and cost saving initiatives are being adopted and that product selection is focused on supporting our supply chain.
* Monitor, track, and report on price fluctuations across the supply chain.
* Identify risks and implement contingency plans that minimise risk and ensure continued supply during market downturns.
* Ensure that the regional commercial teams are regularly updated on group trading agreements and changes.
* Monitor and report on regional compliance across with group agreements.
* Introduce and manage a 360‑degree vendor review process.
* Owning the business procurement documents, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and support the procurement process.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define best practice procurement budgets.
Skills and Experience
* Ability to work independently to manage own workload to achieve targets and deadlines.
* Strong influencing and negotiation skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Good technical knowledge and understanding of building regulations.
* Excellent communicator, both oral and written.
* Excellent IT skills – including use of procurement systems, preferably COINS.
* Committed and pro‑active with adherence to quality.
* Previous experience of procurement at a group level across multiple regions.
* Competent IT skills working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Office and COINS.
* Effective communication both written and verbal on behalf of the Business required.
* CSCS card and CIPS professional membership (preferable not essential).
