Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: £64,000 - £90,000 per annum
Location: RG7 4PR, between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: Starting from £64,780 (depending on suitability, qualifications, and experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Flexible working requests are considered.
We seek an experienced leader to head the Trials Programme Office (TPO), part of the Trials and Test Technology Centre. The TPO team includes engineers, scientists, project managers, and SMEs delivering Hydrodynamics, Engineering, Environmental, and Capability Trials. Reporting to the Tech Centre Head and part of the SLT, this senior role provides strategic leadership and drives change to meet increasing programme demands.
Key Accountabilities
* Leadership and Team Management: Provide direction, mentorship, and foster a high-performance culture.
* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement integrated trials plans with the Trials Planning Team.
* Change Leadership: Evolve the trials programme to meet customer demands.
* Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to align with strategic objectives.
* Financial Oversight: Manage budgets ensuring cost-effective operations.
* Risk Mitigation: Identify and address risks proactively.
* Performance Metrics: Establish KPIs to monitor trial success.
* Innovation and Improvement: Promote continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Portfolio Management & Delivery: Oversee trials across multiple locations, supporting weapons systems safety and performance.
* Strategic Leadership: Drive development and implementation of strategic trial plans.
* Change Management: Lead transformational initiatives to meet program demands.
* Stakeholder & Supply Chain Engagement: Maintain strong relationships and manage component portfolios.
* Budget & Risk Management: Oversee financials and risk mitigation strategies.
* Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Track progress and enhance trial processes.
Candidates should demonstrate a dynamic leadership style, ability to prioritize in high-pressure environments, resource allocation expertise, stakeholder management skills, risk oversight, KPI tracking, problem-solving abilities, and experience in continuous improvement and governance.
