Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.
We would love you to join our Cared For Children – Step Ahead Service, working with and supporting our care experienced young people in Rochdale!
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Step Ahead Service to provide advice, support, and guidance to young people preparing to leave care. You will meet the responsibilities of the Local Authority for young people 16 years and over who have entitlement under the Children Leaving Care Act (2000). The Personal Advisor plays a key role in supporting young people with their transition to adulthood and assists them to live an independent life in their community.
Personal Advisors establish and maintain positive relationships with young people to support their preparation for adulthood, working proactively with appropriate partner agencies to assess individual needs and ensure positive outcomes.
You will deliver high-quality support for young people, managing existing and future risks through Pathway Plan assessments, and creating plans that consider the individual needs and strengths of each young person. This includes assisting young people to engage with support services provided by statutory and voluntary agencies, ensuring they are appropriately supported and able to contribute actively to the community.
The Personal Advisor provides advice and expertise to promote the service and advocate for the rights and needs of young people.
