The role

This is an exciting time for Different Dog. We are rolling out a new brand platform and identity, and this role will be pivotal to bring that brand to life with clarity, confidence and creative excellence.

This is not a caretaker role.

It is a hands-on brand and creative leadership role, with clear ownership of how the brand shows up across channels during an important growth period.

The mandate is to elevate and execute the Different Dog brand through brilliant creative strategy and delivery.

You will lead a growing brand team and work with trusted freelancers and partners to deliver high-quality output at pace.

You will work in partnership with the Head of Growth to ensure creative strategy, media strategy and execution are aligned, emotionally distinctive and commercially effective.


About the brand

At Different Dog, we’re on a mission to change dogs’ lives with real food. We are a team of passionate dog lovers who believe that nutrition matters, and our recipes are built on proven science, with support from our in-house vet and nutritionist. Having seen behind the curtain of the processed pet food industry, we decided to do everything differently. We are a subscription-based B Corp™ delivering hand-cooked, healthy food to over 20,000 UK dogs; our nutritional rating and customer reviews speak for themselves.


Key responsibilities
Brand & creative leadership

· Own the creative expression of the Different Dog brand across all consumer touchpoints

· Ensure brand quality and premium craft at every moment

· Translate the brand platform into clear creative principles and direction for teams and partners


Rebrand continuation and delivery

· Lead the continued rollout and embedding of the new brand across paid media, owned channels, product storytelling, packaging and internal brand touchpoints

· Ensure the brand is delivered consistently and to a high standard post-launch, with no dilution, drift or fragmentation


Campaign & storytelling leadership

· Lead the creative development of brand and growth campaigns

· Shape campaign ideas, narratives and creative direction from brief to delivery

· Raise the bar on emotional storytelling and distinctiveness in a competitive category


Creative strategy × media collaboration

· Partner closely with the Head of Growth to:

o Align creative strategy with media strategy

o Ensure creative is built for channel, format and audience intent

o Maximise effectiveness of media investment through stronger creative thinking

· Work collaboratively on testing, learning and iteration


Brand functions in scope

· PR activity and narrative development

· Organic social and creative direction

· Event and brand partnerships

· Own a small, clear set of brand health indicators

Team leadership & output quality

· Lead, manage and develop the team, plus freelancers and agency partners

· Own prioritisation, ways of working and delivery across brand, creative, content and social

· Be hands-on where it matters: briefs, reviews, feedback and final sign-off. Ensure work is delivered at pace without sacrificing quality


What we’re looking for
Experience

· Proven experience leading brand and creative execution for a premium consumer brand

· Strong track record of delivering campaigns and creative work across paid and owned channels

· Experience working closely with growth or performance teams and media strategy

Skills & mindset

· Excellent creative judgement and taste

· Able to set direction and execute at speed

· Comfortable making decisions and standing behind them

· Collaborative, pragmatic, and delivery-focused
