Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
We are seeking a thoughtful and committed Teacher of Religious Education (RE) to join our school on a long-term temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students to explore beliefs, values, ethics, and diverse worldviews.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive RE lessons across Key Stages [insert], encouraging respect, reflection, and critical thinking in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons
2. Encourage open discussion and critical thinking about beliefs, values, and ethical issues
3. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
4. Create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment for students of all backgrounds
5. Contribute to curriculum planning within the department
6. Support whole-school values, including SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural development)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching Religious Education in a secondary school setting (preferred)
9. Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of diverse religious and non-religious perspectives
10. The ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
11. Excellent classroom management and communication skills
12. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
