This opportunity allows you to join our dynamic and evolving therapy teams at Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust. Currently, the Band 6 rotation encompasses Health Care of the Older Person, Amputees, Orthopaedics, Medical wards, and Surgery wards. Regardless of your placement, you will be an integral part of the therapy team, helping prevent patient admissions to the hospital and maximizing their chances of staying at home through timely therapy interventions and treatments.
As a member of the broader therapy team, your responsibility will be to provide a high-standard specialist occupational therapy service with a primary focus on preventing hospital admissions, delivering prompt therapy treatments, and facilitating timely hospital discharges.

Person Specification
Contractual
* Essential: Flexible working, including 7-day working which will include late shifts.
* Desirable: Ability to drive
Knowledge Requirements
* Essential: Sound clinical knowledge of medical conditions and applied occupational therapy techniques.
* Ability to prioritise & work under pressure.
* Delegation skills.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
* Ability to work as a team member as well as alone but with access to more senior colleagues.
* IT skills.
* Knowledge of NHS procedures, policies and guidelines.
* Ability to formulate and develop specialised individual treatment programmes and use clinical reasoning skills.
Qualifications - Academic/Craft/Professional
* Essential: BSc (Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
* Registration with HCPC.
* Desirable: Membership of the College of Occupational Therapists.
Further Training
* Essential: Attendance at relevant clinical postgraduate courses, often at modular Masters level.
* Practice Placement Educators training.
* Desirable: APPLE Accreditation training.
Experience
* Essential: Completion of postgraduate junior rotation including a rotation in medicine.
* Broad understanding of occupational therapy processes and frameworks.
* Experience of audit and service review.
* Experience of supervising staff and/or students.
* NHS experience including policies and procedures.
* Desirable: Evidence of contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, assistants, and students.
