An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Trafford North Community Mental Health Team. The team consists of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, STR workers, psychology staff and psychiatrists and offers a service to individuals experiencing complex mental health needs in a community setting.
Role
You will work as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the team and support the team in the role of duty worker on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
* Carry out evidence-based occupational and employment assessments and write high-standard reports highlighting how biological, sociological and psychological factors interact to create barriers to satisfactory participation for service users.
* Define and deliver therapeutic intervention plans, including OT recovery groups, and recommendations aimed to improve participation and recovery in life roles.
* Manage a defined caseload of working-age service users with complex mental health and physical needs in the community using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate OT interventions.
* Develop and provide evidence-based OT recovery groups for complex service users to enable participation and recovery in valued life roles.
* Receive supervision and support from the team manager, senior practitioners and the clinical specialist OT in assessment, analysis, case formulation and treatment planning.
* Provide OT professional advice for the MDT and support staff.
* Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the OT CMHT service, taking responsibility for defined projects.
* Supervise OT students on fieldwork placement regularly.
* Make recommendations to access support from appropriate professionals and agencies or deliver OT interventions to help individuals achieve or maintain a balance of occupational and/or life roles.
* Participate in the duty rota and out of hours rota operated by the Community Mental Health Team.
