Salary: £25,322 - £25,623 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 15 per week, 40 weeks sessional
Monday to Friday 5pm until 8pm.
As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you’ll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You’ll deliver a vital cleaning service across our estate to ensure our properties are safe and clean places to work or learn in. This is a secure and flexible employment opportunity with above-market rates and good conditions, suitable for balancing family, caring or studying commitments.
Responsibilities
* To empty litter and recycling bins.
* Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
* Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
* Emergency and reactive cleaning as required (e.g., graffiti removal, body fluid spillages, accidental spillages).
* Care and cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the duties.
* Other tasks as may reasonably be required related to the role, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings where required.
* Deliver to cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement to meet agreed standards.
* As part of Facilities Management, you may be required to be a key holder to enable opening and closing of buildings, including operation of security alarm systems, closing windows/doors, switching off lights, and ensuring premises are left safe and secure when closing.
Requirements and Working Arrangements
* This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An Overseas Criminal Record Check is also required if you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years.
