We are currently recruiting for a Mid-Weight Designer to join an ambitious Digital Agency based in Derby. We’re looking for a creative problem-solver who can take ownership of design projects from concept through to delivery, working across web, e-commerce, and brand. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys shipping quality work, collaborating with developers, and working directly with clients. The ideal person will come from an agency or in-house design background, with a strong portfolio to match. You’ll have a sharp eye for detail, the confidence to own projects end to end, and the ability to move comfortably between different clients and briefs. You’ll be able to manage your own time and priorities, respond to feedback constructively, and stay curious, keeping your skills and thinking up to date while focusing on what actually improves the final outcome. Requirements 2–4 years’ experience in a design role, ideally agency-side, with a portfolio that demonstrates quality and range Proven ability to manage multiple projects across different clients, delivering work on time without sacrificing quality Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, design systems, and basic prototyping Solid understanding of responsive web design, mobile-first principles, and designing within real-world development constraints Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and collaborate closely with internal teams Experience working alongside developers to bring designs to life, with an understanding of clean, practical handover Comfortable presenting concepts to clients, taking feedback on board, and iterating while staying aligned to the brief Desirable Skills An interest in how good design supports commercial outcomes, not just aesthetics Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) E-commerce design experience, particularly WooCommerce or similar platforms Basic understanding of HTML and CSS to support more build-aware design decisions Experience working on brand identity and visual systems Involvement in sales pitches or pre-sales work, such as contributing design ideas, visuals, or concepts Confidence supporting presentations or workshops alongside senior team members Ability to quickly visualise ideas or concepts to help bring proposals to life Familiarity with UX audit principles and an interest in developing this skill Who We Are The Digital Maze is an agency that has grown via the acquisition of 3 well respected and growing agencies within the midlands Frogspark Boom Online Marketing Evolve Retail We are a Strategic Performance Marketing & WordPress/WooCommerce agency dedicated to driving growth for Home & Garden, Lifestyle, D2C, SaaS, and Service brands with £5M–£50M in revenue.
