Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Water)
We are recruiting multiple Senior Mechanical Design Engineers (Water) for major long-term frameworks across the UK water industry. RPS, in collaboration with Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million framework from United Utilities to improve river health in Northwest England.
Join our team to work on innovative projects, supporting water industry clients through Asset Management and Operational Strategy development. We work with several major water companies on long-term frameworks, focusing on delivering sustainable water services.
About The Team:
Our Water Consulting team includes Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts dedicated to supporting our clients' needs with innovative solutions. We are involved in prestigious AMP8 programmes, shaping the future of water management in the UK.
About You:
You should have experience in producing technical specifications, designing pumping and aeration systems, and creating detailed reports. Familiarity with collaborative planning, technical presentations, and water treatment processes is essential.
Your Responsibilities:
* Work on diverse projects across frameworks with UK water companies.
* Support project delivery and team development.
* Review technical drawings, undertake asset surveys, and prepare design deliverables.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
* Experience in the water industry is advantageous.
* Knowledge of pump design, P&ID creation, specifications, and CDM regulations.
* Ability to manage work within time, cost, and quality constraints.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar software is a plus.
Qualifications:
* IMechE accredited degree; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
* Chartered status or working towards chartership.
* Membership with professional bodies like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM preferred.
