We are currently seeking an individual to join this team as an Audit Manager, Prudential Risk and Finance - 12 month fixed term contract.
Global Internal Audit (GIA) provides independent, objective assurance to Senior Management on whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and operated, is adequate and functioning.
This role offers variety and opportunities to work with internal auditors and stakeholders across different locations, functions, and business lines. GIA supports ongoing professional development, including in-function training and support for relevant professional qualifications.
The Audit Manager's role is to support (or lead) the delivery of internal audits, support ongoing risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include:
1. Delivering quality work within the given timeframes, standards, methodology, budget, and best practices.
2. Effectively discussing potentially challenging matters and audit findings with stakeholders to ensure understanding and appropriate mitigation.
3. Contributing to wider team activities, including assisting with the annual audit plan, supporting continuous monitoring, and undertaking ad-hoc projects.
The role covers Prudential Risk and Finance, including financial and regulatory reporting, model risk, treasury (liquidity, capital, interest rate risk in the banking book, recovery and resolution planning), and taxation.
To succeed, candidates should meet the following requirements:
1. Experience in auditing or related roles within banking and financial services, or external audit is highly desirable.
2. A team player who delivers assigned audit tasks and supports colleagues.
3. Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
4. Analytical and critical thinking skills to manage complex challenges and priorities.
5. Relevant accounting or audit qualification (such as ACA, ACCA, CIA) or QBE.
6. Desirable knowledge in financial and regulatory reporting, models, treasury, and taxation.
The base location is Birmingham with a hybrid working pattern.
