The Public Protection Division is undergoing an exciting transformation. We’ve recently upgraded from Idox Uniform to a modern, cloud-based platform – Idox Cloud – to enhance our service delivery. However, the new system offers limited built-in reporting capabilities, and we need a skilled Data Analyst to help us unlock its full potential. What you’ll do Design and deliver custom reports and interactive dashboards in Power BI, including KPI reporting. Extract, clean, and analyse datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Collaborate with service managers to provide data-driven recommendations that improve decision-making and operational efficiency. Champion a data-driven culture, ensuring accurate and meaningful reporting across the division. Work with partners (e.g., police and internal council teams) to produce: Crime Needs Assessment Reports – statistical analysis of crime trends, risks, and community needs. Trend and Hotspot Analysis – identifying geographic and thematic patterns in crime data. Advise on system configuration improvements, particularly code lists. Recommend and implement enhancements to data collection processes. Train internal staff on dashboard usage and interpretation. Support data governance compliance, ensuring GDPR and local authority data-sharing protocols are met. What we’re looking for Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualisation (Power BI essential). Strong knowledge of SQL and data manipulation techniques. Ability to translate complex data into clear, practical insights. Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Why join us?
