The Role

As part of a multi-disciplinary/agency team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

To deliver comprehensive, highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to clients with a variety of communication difficulties and/or eating/drinking/swallowing difficulties.

This service will be delivered in a variety of settings.

The post holder is expected to have high level clinical skills, knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of complex diagnoses and aetiologies.

Duties and location may vary depending on the client group/aspect and demands of the service/level of experience.

What we'll need you to bring

1. Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC Registration.
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
3. Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
5. Advanced specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
6. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
7. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualifications.
9. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
12. A driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

13. Member of RCSLT
14. Post graduate leadership/management training
15. Postgraduate qualification in Developmental Dysphagia/EDS
16. Knowledge of current local and national policies in specialist area
17. Training of others in the management of eating, drinking and swallowing disorders
18. Able to analyse and use data to inform service delivery

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location

This role will be based in Speech and Language Therapy - School Age EDS within Lanarkshire.
