Rates of Pay
Age-related national minimum wage, up to £12.90 per hour.
Holidays
5.6 weeks pro rata per annum. Bank holidays are usually honoured on a pro‑rata basis (except in emergencies).
About the Role
We're looking for a Personal Assistant to support a 15‑year‑old young man with multiple diagnoses, including ADHD, Autism, ARND, OOD and a Learning Development Disorder. He presents at a developmental level of 8‑9 years. He is also asthmatic, flatt‑footed and has low muscle tone.
He is allergic to dog hair, cat hair and lanolin. He can stroke cats or dogs, but must wash hands immediately afterwards. He carries emergency medication and knows to ask for his pump if an attack starts. Previous attacks have required hospitalization.
He cannot consume fizzy drinks and may have specific food preferences; he keeps wet and dry food separately on the plate unless they belong together, such as beans on toast. He is gradually improving in these areas.
There is no personal care involved. He can travel comfortably in a car and is unlikely to present flight risk. The primary goal is to assist him in going out and enjoying activities such as cinema, walks, parks, football, etc.
