Adults Care and Wellbeing plays a key role in delivering our vision for people to live the life they want. The Practice Development Team collaborates with the Leadership Team and managers across services to bring this vision to life.
We are seeking a HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist to join the practice development team, working under the guidance of the Principal Occupational Therapist.
This role is vital in supporting Occupational Therapy staff to develop best practices that reflect our customers' voices and uphold professional standards.
The postholder will also support the development of skills and knowledge across Adult Care and Wellbeing services, emphasizing person-centered approaches, independence, and occupational justice.
This role includes line management responsibilities.
Key Duties
1. Implement key elements of our Sheffield Workforce Development Strategy, focusing on Occupational Therapy practice and workforce planning.
2. Provide practice development support across all Adults Care and Wellbeing services concerning Occupational Therapy models, care approaches, and person-centered practices to ensure high-quality standards and optimal outcomes.
3. Identify practice trends locally and nationally, using research and evidence to prioritize and design initiatives for practice improvement.
4. Manage the drafting, communication, implementation, and review of policy and practice guidance in collaboration with services, ensuring compliance and quality assurance.
5. Line manage staff within the Practice Development team and other team members as needed.
6. Support the Principal Occupational Therapist with regional and national workstreams related to the National AHP strategy and Occupational Therapy taskforce.
7. Represent Sheffield City Council Occupational Therapy at local, regional, and national levels as directed by the Principal Occupational Therapist.
