Overview
Elmbridge comprises the whole of the Esher & Walton Parliamentary Constituency, 12 wards, and four wards which are in the Runnymede & Weybridge Constituency. We are the largest party on Elmbridge Borough Council and have recently elected the Lib Dem MP for Esher & Walton. The Government is proposing to divide Surrey County Council into two (possibly three) unitary authorities in 2027. Elmbridge is currently expecting to be part of an East Surrey Unitary Authority. There are elections planned for this shadow new authority in 2026.
Elmbridge Liberal Democrats are seeking an enthusiastic and self‑motivated person who can recruit and manage a team of volunteers and build campaigning capacity. As well as helping to get our message out about Monica Harding MP and our Lib Dem councillors we want to make significant gains in the 2026 Unitary Authority elections.
Its a fantastic opportunity to lead the work, to deliver campaigning activity, and build the infrastructure and organisation necessary to hold a Lib Dem MP, but also to help lead the campaign to kick the Conservatives out of Surrey.
