Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEND Tutor to work 1:1 with a bright, creative 12-year-old student with Autism and ADHD, who is currently accessing alternative provision while awaiting the right educational placement. This is a rewarding opportunity for a tutor who thrives in relational, trauma-informed and SEND-specialist education and wants to make a meaningful impact.
About the student
The student is warm, creative and caring with a strong interest in animals, drawing, hairdressing and practical activities. She has experienced emotionally based school avoidance, anxiety and distress in mainstream settings but has engaged positively with alternative provision and therapeutic learning environments

Your role
You will deliver 1:1 personalised tuition that supports both academic progress and emotional regulation, helping student build confidence, resilience and readiness for future education.
Key focus areas include:
* English and Maths with creative, practical and sensory-friendly approaches
* Supporting student to sustain attention for up to 15 minutes using adult support and visual scaffolds
You will be part of a wider multi-professional plan supporting her long-term reintegration into education.
What we're looking for
You will ideally have:
* Experience working with Autism, ADHD or emotionally based school avoidance
* A calm, nurturing and emotionally intelligent teaching style
* Confidence supporting emotional regulation and anxiety
* Creativity in delivering engaging, practical learning
* Patience, warmth and consistency
Qualified teachers, SEND tutors with or without QTS, behaviour therapists or experienced learning mentors are welcome to apply.
