Sheridan Maine is pleased to be recruiting a brand new Assistant Accountant opportunity in Andover. This role will ideally suit an individual studying their AAT qualification who is looking to develop and grow their accounting experience within a supportive and friendly working environment.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, who will provide mentorship and training, the role will encompass a broad range of finance activities, which will include;
1. Accounts payable and receivable invoicing
2. Credit control
3. Bank reconciliations
4. Expense processing
5. Journal postings
6. Intercompany reconciliations and journals
7. Accruals and prepayments
8. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
9. Provide support with the annual audit
The desired candidate, will have the following skills & experience;
10. Actively studying AAT or similar accounting qualifications (ACCA / CIMA)
11. Some prior finance experience gained in a busy accounts office
12. Basic accounts knowledge of credits & debits
13. Competent IT skills with prior experience using Excel
14. Aptitude to learn and self motivated
15. Excellent interpersonal skills and friendly manner
